YEAR FOR PRIESTS
My brothers in the priesthood of our Lord Jesus Christ, I am grateful to our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI for focusing the attention of all the members of Christ's faithful on the priest, on the wonderful gift of the ministerial priesthood. I pray that the attention will bring about prayerful reflection on the person of the priest, on his human fragility as well as the inexhaustible source of strength that is available to him. May the common reflection engender more understanding of the mystery of the priesthood and of the priest, more prayerful support for the priest and for his ministry and more and renewed commitment on the part of priests to the person of Jesus Christ, the High Priest of our holy religion, of whose priesthood we are called to share.
Love God! Love the Church! Love the priest!
As we inaugurate the Year of Priests with our Holy Father on 19th June 2009, may the Spirit of God fall afresh and with power on the Church, anointing her priests to bring the good news of salvation to the poor, to open the eyes of the blind, to free those in bondage and to declare the favourable year of our God.

This indeed is a wonderful opportunity worth utilizing especially when it concerns the work we do as pastors of the soul and disseminating of good news, I wish it benefit all us. God's gift are numerous and this is one of them and what we can do with His gifts are also numerous. May He continue to keep us so that we become more and more veritable instrument of his gift.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your favourable comment! May the Lord inspire us to use every available means to honour him and bring others to do so. God bless you! + Hilary
